By plane
Currently the airport is under the 2nd phrase construction. When the construction is finished, it will be very convenient to travel to Guangzhou, Qingyuan, Huizhou, Heyuan and even neighbouring provinces.

By train
The railway station is located in the city centre. There are daily express trains to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Kowloon. The Beijing-Kowloon Railroad stops at Shaoguan-sometimes it is a lengthy stop when the locomotive is changed there.

By bus
Shaoguan is conveniently connected by highways. There are buses running between Shaoguan and Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong. The long distance bus station is not far from the railway station within ten minutes' walk to the west.

By water
There is public ferry transport to and from Shaoguan, but passenger numbers are decreasing.

City transport
Most common means of transport are buses, minibuses, motor-rickshaws and bicycles.
