Shaoguan lies in the subtropical monsoon region and enjoys a pleasant climate, though temperature and weather conditions may differ in the area. In summer it is hot and wet, and in winter it may snow for example on Mt. Golden Cock (Jinji ling). The average January temperature is around 8-11ºC and for July is 28-29ºC. Visitors in spring time may enjoy the best scenery - but don't forget to bring your umbrella! Autumn with fair and comfortable weather is also a good time to visit Shaoguan.
