Set in the Zhujiang Delta, Zhuhai is a clean and pretty place where one can have a quite enjoyable life. The 'City with A Hundred Islands' (Baidao zhishi) offers numerous ways and facilities for entertainment, most of them water-related. Many surrounding small islands have been opened as tourist areas, and offer water sports like surfing, diving and water-skiing. There are also several well-maintained tennis courts and golf training courses in Zhuhai.
After sunset, local pubs and teahouses open their doors and there is outdoor seating at some of them. However, single males beware: You are likely to be approached by prostitutes.
First debuted in 1998, Zhuhai is the venue of the only official International Airshow in China-usually held in November.
There is also the Zhuhai International Circuit-the first F1 circuit in China (race way 4.3 km long). The town is hoping to host Formula One Grand Prix car races here. It was selected as the second last stop of the 1999 Formula One, but was eventually cancelled.)
