By plane Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport is only ten kilometers from the city area. Daily direct flights are available from Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Dalian, Guangzhou, Haikou, Hangzhou, Kunming, Shanghai and Shenzhen. In addition, you can also go to international destinations such as Bangkok, Singapore, Manila and Osaka.
By train Xiamen Railway Station is located at Xiahe Road and Hudong Road. Take bus No. 16,18,21,25,26,28,37 to arrive at the railway station. After walking out of the station, walk along Xiahe Road to the west and then you can arrive at the dock of Gulangyu.
By bus Everyday there are buses to Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shantou.
By boat Every week, there is a ship to Hong Kong (every Wednesday 17:00 depart from Xiamen, leave Hong Kong on every Tuesday 14:00). There are also direct cargo ships linking Xiamen and Gaoxiong.

There are more than 50 transportation routes in the city. The ticket price is one or two Yuan. Xiamen is not big, so you can take a bus around the city. These routes by bus are quite nice: Xiahe Road+Jiahe Road, South Hubin Road+West Lianqian Road+East Lianqian Road+Qianpu International Exhibition Center; North Hubin Road+Lvling Road; Huandao Road; Zhongshan Road.

The sight seeing bus of Xiamen is from the ferry dock to Huangcuo Shizhoutou, passing the main attractions of Xiamen.
Ferry:
Entering Gulangyu is charge free but if you leave Gulangyu you need to buy a ticket costing RMB 8. On the island there is only one transportation tool: The batter cars.

Mainly on Huandao Road, the deposit costing RMB 300~500.
