Geographic location: Wuhu city is located in southeast of Anhui province and lower reaches of Yangtze River. Its heart geographic coordinate is east longitude 119 ° 21 ' and north latitude 119 ° 21 ‘. The Yangtze River slowly flows from southwest of the city to northeast, and Qingyi River traverses the city from southeast to northwest then flow into the Yangtze River.

Geology and climate: With resourceful sunshine and rainfall, Wuhu has humid monsoon climate of subtopics and clear seasons. Its year average temperature is 15℃-16℃ with about 2000 hours sunshine time, 1200mm-rainfall and 219-240 days non-frost period one year. Wuhu has high south and low north with irregular strip terrain. With various physiognomy types, it has plain and highland and abundant river and lake.
