By train: By far the easiest way to go to Wuyishan is by train. One thing to bear in mind is that you can make direct access to Wuyishan by train only if you start from Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou and Shanghai. From Beijing, Nanjing, Hefei (in Anhui Province) and Nanchang (in Jiangxi Province), the destination is Shaowu in Fujian Province, from which you must take a long-distance bus to go to Wuyishan. If you set off from Hangzhou, you will have to stop at Shangrao in Jiangxi Province and also take a bus for around 4 hours.
By bus Fuzhou's CITS run tour buses directly to Wuyishan. The bus from Shangrao to Wuyishan take 4 hours, and costs RMB 30. The bus from Shaowu take 3 hours, and costs RMB 20.
By plane If you do not have a tight budget, you can fly directly from Fuzhou, Xiamen, Beijing or Shanghai. The airport is a few kilometers from the mountain proper. Minibuses and cycle-rickshaws are close at hand to take you to the major scenic area.
