Wuyi Mountain range forms a natural barrier along the eastern coast. Thanks to this, the area around the mountain (including the nature reserve, river area and Wuyigong-the main village) is considerably warmer in winter and cooler in summer in comparison with other surrounding towns.
Like most other mountains, Wuyi is fairly misty in the evenings and precipitation and humidity are high. Warm clothing is essential for a climb-up the mountain as the temperature drops considerably with the altitude.
Generally speaking, the four seasons on Wuyi Mountain are not so distinct, with the annual temperature staying at 17.6 degrees C and annual precipitation at 1,864 mm.
The best time to visit is in spring or summer, when the natural beauty of the area is at its prime.
