By plane Quanzhou Jingjiang Airport is located 12 kilometers south of Quanzhou's city center. It operates flights to eleven cities including Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. A chartered flight to Hong Kong is also available. A booking office in Quanzhou (0595-2199818) is available. The taxi journey to the city from the airport will take less than half an hour and costs about RMB 40.
By train Quanzhou is not conveniently connected by railway as there are few fast trains passing this coastal city. The only one, K986, travels between Quanzhou and Wuyi Mountain. Every night, K986 leaves Wuyi Mountain at 21:15 and arrives Quanzhou at 11:20 the next day.
By bus The Long-distance Bus Station is located on the corner of Quanxiu Street and Wenling Rd. Coach services are convenient and frequent. Destinations include Xiamen; Zhangzhou; Fuzhou; Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
By boat There is a ferry service to Hong Kong on a regular basis as well as to several coastal cities in China.
City transportation More than 20 public bus lines are in service now, connecting most of the tourist sights. Taxis are very affordable and very convenient. There are also many motorbikes and pedicabs available for hire. The most useful buses are: No.2 to the Kaiyuan Temple. No.16 to the Quanzhou Jingjiang Airport. No.19 to the Muslim Tomb.
