The hotel was opened in 2002 and redecorated in 2005 on the basis of renovated countryyard house built by a wealthy merchant during the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1736).
The distinguishable features of the hotel are the Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings and furnishings. Here, a guest can sleep on an old-fashioned "kang" style (heated brick bedstead) .The bed is surrounded by the furniture and art of China's glorious past.
